Manufacturer's Guarantee

SIGMA Manufacturer's Guarantee

Only valid for products that have been duly imported into the respective country of customers residence.

Worldwide manufacturer's guarantee provided by SIGMA Corporation of Japan, 2-4-16 Kuriki, Asao-ku, Kawasaki-shi, Kanagawa 215-8530 Japan.

Irrespective of existing statutory material and title defect rights in the country of purchase, SIGMA provides the consumer with its own manufacturer's guarantee for this product, for a period of one year from the initial sale date, subject to the following conditions:

  • Should the product exhibit deficiencies during the guarantee period on account of material or manufacturing defects, it will be repaired free of charge according to our best judgement or it will be replaced with a defect-free product.
  • The prerequisite for claiming under the manufacturer's guarantee is proof of the purchase date, which can be proven by submitting the original purchase receipt (till receipt) together with the original SIGMA guarantee card, duly completed by the dealer.
  • Repair under the guarantee must be carried out by one of SIGMA's own repair workshops or by an authorised workshop, to which the rejected piece of equipment should be sent carriage paid. Costs for repairs that are carried out by an unauthorised workshop will not be reimbursed.
  • The guarantee does not apply to damage, defects or malfunctions caused by use not in compliance with the instructions, improper use, impact, being dropped or contamination caused by, for example, moisture, sand, dust, dirt or battery leakage.
  • The guarantee also does not apply to damage caused by or exacerbated by improper attempts at repair.
  • The guarantee does not include the repair, maintenance or replacement of components, which are damaged or worn out in the regular course of normal use.
  • The guarantee expires if alterations to the product are undertaken without the express approval of the manufacturer.
  • No claims under the guarantee can be made if the model description and/or serial number has been removed, altered or rendered illegible.

This guarantee is not transferable. The guarantee only applies to those SIGMA products for which this guarantee card has been issued. SIGMA is only liable for damages based on compelling, statutory regulations, in particular in accordance with the terms of the relevant product liability law, but not limited hereunto. In particular claims under this guarantee do not include replacement claims for destroyed or implied manner, are not binding on Sigma, but rather on those who have given these warranties.

Insofar as the buyer has acquired the SIGMA product as a consumer as per the law, this manufacturer's guarantee does not affect his country-specific statutory rights arising hereunder against the seller.

Important Notes

Please keep this guarantee card in a safe place. SIGMA is not liable for its loss and does not issue any duplicates.

If the product needs to be repaired, please send it in shock-proof packaging, with a detailed description of the defect as well as the completed guarantee card, purchase receipt and, if possible, illustrative photographs to the authorised service centre responsible for your country. In your own interest, please ensure that the package is adequately insured. SIGMA only accepts carriage-paid packages. Should you wish to send your equipment carriage unpaid, please return it to the contracting party from the purchase contract, i.e. your supplier.

If the product needs to be repaired, have it sent (via your dealer, not direct!) to the authorised SIGMA repairs department, with a clear description of the defect, a completed guarantee card, the original sales receipt and if possible example photographs. SIGMA only accepts packages where full postage has been paid.

If SIGMA decides that a voluntarily sent product does not meet the terms of the guarantee or request for free repair and/ or replacement of parts, then the dealer will be informed of this and will receive an overview of the expected repair costs. If they dealer does not submit a request for repair within four weeks then the product will be returned un-repaired.

On repairs a 6 months guarantee is valid under the conditions of the manufacturer's guarantee provided by SIGMA Corporation of Japan.
